AustCham Laos, in partnership with our Bronze Sponsor Katalyst Partners, is hosting a one-day practical management training designed to help current or potential future managers strengthen their skills to better take responsibility for priorities, performance and people at the same time, all while achieving or exceeding planned results and targets.

Management Essentials: Getting Results Through People is ideal for team leaders, supervisors, managers, and professionals stepping into a people-management role. The program focuses on the practical skills managers need every day from delegating and setting expectations to monitoring performance, giving feedback, and motivating their teams. In today’s workplace, professionals are often promoted into management because of their technical or professional expertise, but may receive little practical guidance on how to lead others effectively. This program addresses that gap by providing practical, immediately applicable tools to help managers delegate with confidence, set clear expectations, manage performance, and create the conditions for their teams to perform at their best.

The training combines proven management frameworks with hands-on workplace application. Following the Katalyst approach of Educate, Engage, Empower, participants will move from understanding key management concepts, to practising them, and finally applying them to real workplace situations.

Understand what motivates people at work and apply the ARC framework Autonomy, Relatedness, and Competence to strengthen engagement
Identify specific management commitments and actions to apply immediately after the program

Real workplace scenarios and management diagnostics relevant to their roles
The Marshmallow Challenge, a practical team exercise linked to real management principles
Peer review of KPIs developed for participants’ own roles
